Coluracetam for MAC

Free, open-source Markdown reader and editor for Mac with a live split preview, Quick Look previews and thumbnails in Finder, and PDF/HTML export.

Coluracetam Overview

Coluracetam is a Markdown reader and editor for Mac that shows the same rendered preview everywhere. Press the spacebar on a .md file in Finder and Quick Look shows it rendered in color, and Finder shows generated thumbnails of your Markdown files. Open a file in the app and you get a live split: plain monospace source on one side and the rendered page on the other, with text selection and search that work across the whole rendered document.

Coluracetam is made by Mado Kagerou and is free and open source under the MIT license. It opens and saves ordinary UTF-8 .md and .markdown files directly, with light and dark previews, and needs no account or setup. When another editor changes a file you have open, Coluracetam reloads it while keeping your unsaved edits. You can save the rendered document as PDF or HTML, and zoom with Command-plus, Command-minus and Command-zero. Version 1.2.0 adds PDF import, so you can open or import any PDF as Markdown. Coluracetam needs macOS 26 Tahoe and runs on Apple Silicon Macs only, according to its Homebrew cask.
